Good Bye Summer!

Well yesterday was the first day of autumn and it was so wonderful to look out the window to see the trees changing their colour. I do so love this time of year, but I have to admit that I am sad to see summer go! I can't believe how fast it went. Well, this was a great summer because this is the one year that actually ended feeling like we had hot weather. Sometimes here in Canada the end of summer can really feel like autumn and everyone is wishing for better weather. Well not this year! It was a great one with lots of wonderful memories! Good bye summer & hello autumn!

So to celebrate this season and all of it's splendor I bring you a project that I made using Deedee's Digi of this sweet scarecrow. You can find it here! I love so many of her stamps but this one stole my heart from the first time I saw it. You have to admit that this one is super cute. Here is the Fall Plaque that I made using this image and a simple sentiment of Welcome Fall. I really love how this turned out and can't wait to put it up. Digital images are not just for making cards, but can be used for many crafting projects.

And now for a side view of the embellished sunflower centers.

Seeming that I am on the topic of Good Byes, I guess that there is no better time than now for me to say my "Good Bye" to Deedee and her Design Team. I am going through some personal stuff right now and my family needs me. It was a tough call to make, but with much prayer, thought, and many tears, I felt that it was best to step down for a time. I have made some amazing friends here and Deedee has become a dear friend to me. I have been inspired bye so many of you here and at Crafters Digital Art Center. Don't worry! I will be still popping in over there from time to time and will try to play along when I can. But just know that my time there was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it! This company thrives on sharing wholesome and encouraging images and I am so happy to say that I had a part in helping share it with the paper crafting world! Praying that God will continue to bless you and your company Deedee. Thanks sweetie for everything. I will still be making cards from time to time so be sure to keep checking back here for more card inspiration and maybe some fun projects too.

Visit Deedee's Digis Store for all of the amazing and wonderful fall images. Don't forget the great deal that is underway in the store right now.  Place any order of $10 or more throughout the month of September and receive this digi below for FREE! It will automatically be sent to you with your qualifying order.

Thanks for dropping bye and look forward to seeing what you create with Deedee's Digis!

Quick Share & Design Team Call

Just wanted to share this card I recently made for my neice.  She needed some cards to share with her friends just to let them know that she was thinking of them.  So I thought this cute image from Deedee's Digis Cup of Joy stamp set, was the perfect one to use.  The sentiment is from Sweet & Sassy and you can find it here.  Mostly eveyone loves flowers and hopefully these pretty, but not so smelling flowers, will cheer someone up and make them feel special.

Having A Whale Of A Time!

Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to share some mini cards that I made for a little boy who is very sick and for his little brother.  When my friend Ceal asked Deedee's Design Team to help out with sending this little boy and his family some cards to cheer him up, I whipped up these two cards and bought some treats to send with them.  I was meaning to share them long before now,  but didn't get around too it.  Sorry !  I know that when kids have to move away from their home,  family, and their friends to go to another hospital far away, it can be scary, and very sad.  So I wanted to add a smile to the face of these boys and thought that I would add some jokes to cheer them up. These cards are made using "Cuties for a Cure" and are such a versatile set that the possibilities are endless.

Okay so what is the answer to this one, - wait for it - lol!  "Having A Whale Of A Time!"
Sorry for the very bad picture here! That is what happens when lighting isn't that great!

Another One

And the answer to this one, wait for it! Lol!  - To help remind us that we need to take time to slooooooow down and enjoy the little things in life!  Isn't that the truth!  Isn't this turtle a real cutie!  Make sure to get your set of "Cuties for a Cure"  and the proceeds from the sale will go to the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.  What a great way to support such a big cause.

Thank you for dropping bye and I hope that I have inspired you in some small way!  I trust that all of us who have kids, are having a great start to a new school year.  Wishing you a great week.

Sweet & Sassy Blog Hop

Hi Everyone:
I just watned to share some cards that I made for the Blog Hop over at Sweet Sassy.  With the release of new stamps it is always a great time to have a blog hop and with that comes prizes right!  Lol!  So there is still time to get in on the fun!  I think that the deadline is tonight, not sure if it is midnight or not!  Check out all the action along with amazing creations from the SNS Design Team.

My first card is for Janette's challenge to use the provided sketch!  My take is a little different as I made a Boy card and didn't add the scalloped edging.  This card is also for Deedee's Challenge on the Company Craft Blog. You can find it here.

The next challenge was bye Tricia.  She challenged eveyone to make a card using some sort of flowers or  with a floral theme.  The twist to this challenge was to use whatever SNS digi stamp you have.  I was so happy about this because I have this one with sweet and adorable Cocoa and just had to use it.  For using this image you get your name entered twice for the draw!  Yay for me!

Another great challenge is the Non-Traditional Christmas Card Challenge.  This is being hosted bye Chrissy and it was such a great one to do.  I had a lot of fun thinking outside of the box. Christmas box in this case.

My take on this was to use pink, brown, teal blue, and red.  I must say I am happy how it turned out afterall!  This card is also for the Christmas Card Setpember Challenge at Split Coast Stampers.  These were great to make. If you can't get in on the fun be sure to check out all the new stamps.  They are beautiful and really captured my heart.  Why?  Because I love to see cards that display the real meaning of Christmas - the birth of Chirst and stamps of this sort are difficult to find.  So happy that I got to see them and so will you!

Thanks for dropping bye and I trust that you are having a good day today.  We were meant to have some of the side effects of hurricane Earl, but thank the good Lord, we are out of the woods.  We did have a lot of rain and high winds but nothing to bad.  Praying for those we are directly in the path of this storm and praying that you are safe and protected.

That is all for now.  Make sure to check in to Deedee's Craft Blog tomorrow because it is my day to post and share.  You can check it out here!

I Won! I Won!!

I started my day checking my emails and found out through some friends congratulating me on my win, that I had actually won a contest over at Hero Arts Company Blog.  So off I went to check it out and when I saw it on their blog (big baby that I am  lol!)  I started to cry.  I don't win much and when I do I feel so happy and blessed.  I felt the same way today.  You can read all about it bye clicking the above link or their button in my sidebar panel.  Maybe you might want to enter their montly contest  where there is always two chances to enter.  The theme for August was Teacher Gifts and Staying Connected.  So I made this note pad for a teacher.  I just took a plain white note pad from the Dollar Store and covered it with this front panel that was decorated in a cute bus, on it's way to school.  The funny thing is that I felt that I should have added the word school to the bus but it was to late to change it.  So funny how things work out!  Lol!  The school bus is a Hero Arts Digital Image and you can find it here!

Side View

It was so much fun doing this project and to be honest I never thought that I would win, and not because I don't think my work is good enough, but because there is so many talented women over there it is crazy.  Must make it difficult to pick each month.  This month's challenges are up and you can read all about it here.

Thanks so much for checking in with me.  I still do have a bunch of other things to share, like the cards from the blog hop over at Sweet & Sassy stamps and of course, my Deedee's Digis creations.  I will be back later!

I love summer and we are going through a heat wave right now.  I don't want summer to end but, a nice cool breeze would be so appreciated right about now.

Hugs To You All

Otter Friendship

Hi There:
Just wanted to take the time to share a card that I made for two challenges at Let's Capture Our Memories where they have a challenge to make a card having a Pet in your design.  Also, for a Hero Arts contest which now the deadline is over. Actually they now have a new one beginning with a Fall theme that just started today.

I have to honestly say that we don't have any pets but not because we don't want them. We have been debating the idea of having a dog for some time now and still can't decide. There maybe one for Christmas for someone in the near future! Lol! That is yet to be determined.  Shhh! No telling! Lol!

These two little guys are so cute and if Otters could be pets than these two would be mine. They are so adorable and I had so much fun paper piecing them together.  This is a digital image from 2 Peas and is a Hero Arts product.  You can find it here!  I so love the fact that with digital images you can print them on patterned paper and then use these pieces to create depth and dimension to your products.

Side-view of highlighting.

View of Ribbon Stamping

All papers used were Chatterbox and cardstock was Cordinations.  Buttons were bye Creative Cafe' and ink was Stampin Up.  Ribbon is from the sale bin at Michaels's and didn't have a name.  Sorry!  Hope you like this idea and that you share a Pet Card at the challenge over at LCOM.

Before I go I have something to share.  Even though I didn't find out until much later, my wonderful blog friend Dorcas gave me one of the most wonderful gifts.  A blog badge that expresses how she feels about my blog.  I was so happy to see this and want to thank her for her kindness and for our friendship.  I meet her a long time ago through a connection of  our personal family histories, well location rather than actually family.  I have been so blessed with her faithfulness to God and to her family, and especially have been awe struck on several occassions with her breath taking card making creations.  Thank you my sweet friend.  So here is the sweet gift and now it is my turn to pass it along to others and share in the love.

So now it is my turn to share in the fun and love.  Here is what I need to do and others can follow in persuit!
1. Save image to your computer and use later when you share with others.
2. Post badge with pride on your blog.
3. List 3 things about yourself that you love.  Lol! I don't think this way often, so this is hard.

  •  I love to laugh!  Laugh so hard that it makes me cry and others too!  Someone once said that it is the best medicine and I am number one advocate of this!  Lol!  See what I mean, I am always using the ( Lol !) in my post a lot, because I always seem to chuckle at things.  I know, this might seem silly but it is better to take a frown and turn it upside down, than to frown so much that you abuse all those muscles that it takes to do so.  Much more effort than smiling! Lol! So smile!

  • I don't know if I would say I love this about myself, but I so do love to stand in the gap or stand up for the underdog. There are so many people who are treated unfairly and need someone to care enough to befriend them and show love to them and I so love to do this.  I am reminded of seniors and how so many folks don't have the time or patience to be with these people.  Not me! I can remember from a young age wanting to visit my great-great- aunt in the seniors home and I think that God instilled that love in me from the beginning.

  • I love the fact that I am a good cook and love to be organize.  Well most of the time and most of all I love the fact that I love learning from yesterday to help me be a better me tomorrow.  I am not perfect and there are things from days gone by that can give me vision to be a better Mother, wife, daughter, and friend.  Remember mistakes or trials are not stumbling blocks, but stepping stones to building a better me for my God, my family and my community.
4. Post a picture that you really love. Oh this one is hard because I have so many!  I will try to limit it! Lol!

Lots of people think my hubby is too quiet to be funny, but after being with me for 14 years of marriage and more before that, he is just a big nut like me!  Lol! The kid is a little crazy too!  There are tons more favorites and ones even better then this, but this is just a glimpse that we are a family who loves to laugh and have fun!

5. Okay so now I have to send this to 5 of my blogging friends.  This is hard beccause I do know a lot of gals I could bless with some love, but these once I have chosen I have really come to love and respect as friends. So here they are in no particular order.  Dorcas would have been here but she beat me to it with this gift first!

Here they are:
Jillian over in my Flickr Group and you can find her blog here!  She is such a sweetheart with a big heart and she has made my stay over at the group so wonderful.  She makes some of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen.  I think the thing that blows me away is all the techniques she uses to create her magic.

Virginia is another gal who is a sweetie at heart. She always helps to keep me on my toes over in our Flickr group.  She is a follow Canadian and her kindness to me and prayers were such a blessing when I went through a difficult time this past Spring.  Here is her blog!

Deedee is another outstanding lady and I have been priviledged to have meet her while taking part in some challenges over at Sweet & Sassy!  Her faith in God and her relationship with Christ has blessed my heart to no end.  Her kind and compassionate spirit is always there to build you up and to encourage and to always give you that much needed advice.  Anyone who isn't afraid to listen to share the love of Christ through the paper crafting world is big in my book.  Thanks for all you do for me and all those you touch. See her blog here and Digi Store.

Sandy is the one lady who says it like it is and shares her views with you with a love of Christ.  Her cards are so wonderful to look at but the thing that makes me love her so much is her need to pray for you bye name and to care enough to write your name and needs in her prayer book. Wow.  I have been so blessed with so many great friends.  You can find her here

Another lady who is becoming a great friend to me, is my Scrappy Sister Ceal.  I have been inspired by her story first when I read it a while back. She is a cancer survior and is a servant of Christ.  She is one of the most driven people I know and I aspire to be more like her.  Her faith in Christ as lead her to do youth  and  outreach ministries in her community.  Her need to do help with ministries overseas is amazing and I know that God isn't finished with her yet.  Love you sweetie and so blessed to have met you in this big crafting world.  You can find her blog here

I have promised myself to surround myself with friends who build me up in my faith and in who God made me to be.  With this I have be blessed beyond measure.

Just wanted to thank Dorcas who said, " Dana is one who has a huge heart and gushes sweet things til my head gets so big it explodes!"  Dorcas you are my sweet Newfie friend from far away and I am so happy God had me to notice your username and question it. Thanks for this bit of fun! Hugs.

Sorry so long folks but I had a lot ot share tonight. Check back in tomorrow, because there is more cards to share using Deedee's Digis digitals. Be sure to check out her Craft Blog post here.

Hugs & Blessings
